On March 17, HUD sent an email to housing agency executive directors stating that calendar year (CY) 2025 administrative fee rates and administrative fee rate descriptions were posted on the HUD website. The descriptions include \u201cproration information through April 2025, as well as guidance on the calculation of administrative fees for portability billings.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Administrative fees are used by housing agencies for the costs of administering the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program. In addition to the costs of administering the program, administrative fees may also be used for other expenses such as owner incentive or retention payments; security deposit assistance; utility deposit assistance or utility arrears; application fees or non-refundable administrative or processing fees or refundable deposit assistance or broker fees; holding fees; or renter\u2019s insurance if required by the lease.
