In this session, HUD’s Real Estate Assessment Center (REAC) staff will discuss HUD’s new inspection protocol, NSPIRE. The new NSPIRE model prioritizes health, safety, and functional defects over appearance. It implements inspections that better reflect the true physical condition of the property. The NSPIRE model supports the adoption of sound, year-round maintenance practices. The discussion will also cover what’s new in NSPIRE for Vouchers. Attendees will learn about how it will impact their agency.
