Nampa Housing Authority Wins Award of Excellence for Community Revitalization
(Washington D.C.-Nov. 17, 2020)- Nampa Housing Authority’s (NHA’s) resident health and wellness programs garnered them a 2020 Award of Excellence for Community Revitalization from the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO).
“This year’s award-winning agencies have given us innovative local solutions for increasing affordable housing stock and improving the lives of their residents,” NAHRO President Sunny Shaw said. “I am excited to honor them for their excellence.”
The Nampa Housing Authority partnered with local organizations on a variety of health and wellness initiatives aimed at combating obesity and diabetes, improving the prevention, detection and treatment of mental illness, reducing deaths caused by suicide, and improving the overall physical health of their residents. With a grant from the St. Luke’s Community Health Improvement Fund, they plan to expand their programs and create new initiatives.
“NAHRO members have always been in the business of providing homes and improving lives – these awards commemorate shining examples of the vital work they do nationwide,” NAHRO CEO Adrianne Todman said. “My sincere congratulations to this year’s winners.”
