NAHRO Honors Innovators in San Francisco

From July 27-29, more than 800 affordable housing and community development leaders converged in San Francisco to attend Innovate 2018: IMAGINE. The second of the association’s three Innovate events, this summer conference focused on forward-thinking solutions to both local and national housing issues. During the conference, NAHRO also honored the 79 housing  and community development agencies who will receive 193 NAHRO Awards of Merit for a wide range of affordable housing and community development programs, including job readiness initiatives, public-private partnerships, disaster prevention projects, and more.

“There was no better place to be for a discussion of creative, cutting-edge solutions to the affordable housing crises plaguing communities nationwide,” said NAHRO CEO Adrianne Todman. “We drew inspiration from San Francisco’s own history of innovation, and honored innovators whose award-winning work shows us the way forward.”

“These agencies have put a lot of thought, creativity and hard work into improving the lives of their residents and revitalizing their local communities,” said NAHRO President Carl S. Richie, Jr. “I am proud to celebrate their achievements.” In addition to an awards celebration, many of the winning agencies were on hand at the Awards of Merit Showcase on July 28 to discuss their innovations with conference attendees.
