HUD Updates Eviction Prevention and Stability Toolkit
HUD has updated its eviction prevention and stability toolkit. The toolkit provides ten items that can help PHAs and Housing Choice Voucher landlords stabilize families during the COVID-19 pandemic. The toolkit provides the following documents:
- PHA Brochure – provides information on repayment agreements, updating repayment agreements, adopting retroactive interim reexaminations, directing outreach to households behind on rent, reviewing policies on minimum rent and financial hardships.
- Tenant Brochure – information that can be distributed to residents.
- HCV Landlord Flyer – information that can be distributed to HCV landlords to encourage them to coordinate with the PHA and engage with tenants. Encourages landlords to set up repayment agreements.
- Repayment Agreement Guidance – guidance on repayment agreements for PHAs and HCV landlords.
- Sample Repayment Agreement – for Public Housing residents.
- Sample Repayment Agreement – for Public Housing residents.
- Sample Repayment Agreement – for HCV residents.
- COVID-19 Resident Needs Assessment Survey – this survey can be used to identify needs and reasons for nonpayment of rent by residents.
- Resident Fact Sheet for Back Rent – provides information on how to assist tenants who have accumulated back rent. Can be used by both PHAs and tenants.
- Treasury’s Emergency Rental Assistance Program – information on funding available to pay back rent or utilities.
