HUD Publishes Public Housing Operating Fund Shortfall Application and Resources

Applications Due June 7, 2024

On May 8, 2024, HUD opened the 2024 Operating Fund Shortfall application, which is housed within the Operating Fund Web Portal. Additionally, they have published the following resources:

  • The 2024 Operating Fund Shortfall Funding webpage;
  • PIH Notice 2024-15, “Implementation of Public Housing Operating Fund Shortfall Funding from Federal Fiscal Year (FFY) 2024 Appropriations” (located on the 2024 Shortfall Funding webpage);
  • A list of agencies eligible for funding and eligible amounts (located on the 2024 Shortfall Funding webpage);
  • “2024 Public Housing Portal Shortfall Application PHA User Guide 20240506” document (published via email); and
  • “2024 Public Housing Portal Shortfall Appeal PHA User Guide 20240507” document (published via email).
