Get Ready for Capitol Hill Day with New Resources from NAHRO
By: Jenna Hampton, Legislative Affairs Manager
The NAHRO team is looking forward to advocating alongside our members at this year’s Capitol Hill Day. Join us for Hill Day meetings on April 10 during the Washington Conference. You will have the unique opportunity to meet face-to-face with your elected officials and their staff as you advocate for housing and community development programs.
NAHRO partners with Advocacy Associates–a scheduling and logistics firm–to schedule Hill Day meetings. This year, we are asking conference attendees to opt in to Hill Day. If you would like NAHRO to schedule Hill Day meetings for you, please follow these three steps:
- Register for the Washington Conference
- Opt-In for Hill Day using the link in your confirmation email
- Watch for an email from Advocacy Associates about 1-2 weeks out from the conference with information on your meeting schedule
Our team is here to help you feel excited and prepared for Hill Day. We have created a variety of resources to support you as you get ready for successful meetings.

“What to Know Before You Go” Webinar Recording

NAHRO’s 2024 Policy Priorities
For the first time, NAHRO is releasing its Legislative and Regulatory Agenda in two steps. The first piece, our 2024 Policy Priorities report, is now available. The central focus of this year’s policy priorities is:
“We want adequate and responsible funding that provides housing and community development agencies the ability to implement holistic and equitable approaches to community development as well as build and preserve affordable units through streamlined programs that allow for creative, local solutions.”
Capitol Hill Maps and Accessibility
We know it can be confusing to navigate Capitol Hill. NAHRO has gathered maps and accessibility resources to make it easier to find your meetings when you join us in Washington, DC:
- Accessibility Services – The Office of Congressional Accessibility Services (OCAS) provides a variety of services for individuals with disabilities.
- U.S. Capitol Map – Produced by the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center
- Transportation Resources – Information on getting to Capitol Hill
