HUD PIH Updates FAQ and Releases Waiver-Related Materials
The Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Office of Public and Indian Housing (PIH) has updated their frequently-asked-questions (FAQ) document on COVID-19, created a chart detailing the new COVID-19 waivers, and posted the PowerPoint slides of their industry stakeholder call from Friday, April 17, 2020.
- COVID-19 FAQs for Public Housing Agencies (updated to Version 3; April 22, 2020) – the new document integrates information from HUD’s CARES Act Eviction Moratorium Q&A for PHAs (4/21/2020); updates the list of key resources listed; updates information on procurement; updates information on treatment of federal unemployment benefits related to the CARES Act; and make numerous other additions;
- COVID-19 Waiver Summary Chart (MS-Word) – a well-organized chart listing each COVID-19 waiver (the waivers can be found in PIH 2020-05), the statutes or regulations it is waiving or providing alternative requirements for, a quick summary of the alternative requirements, a note on the end of availability of the waiver, a column to track whether a PHA implemented the waiver or alternative requirement, and a column to track the date of adoption of the waiver; and
- PowerPoint Slides of the HUD PIH Industry stakeholder call on April 17, 2020.
