Jeff Morrison Wins International and Research and Global Exchange Award
Jeff Morrison, Executive Director of the Canadian Housing and Renewal Association (CHRA), was named the 2021 recipient of the International Research and Global Exchange Award by the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO). An award presentation was made virtually during NAHRO’s Online National Conference & Exhibition.
Morrison is a dedicated and well-versed leader, having served as CHRA’s director since 2016. Before joining CHRA, he served as Director of Government Relations and Public Affairs with the Canadian Pharmacists Association, President of the Association of Canadian Engineering Companies and Director of Government Relations and Director of Environment for the Canadian Construction Association. Jeff has also worked for the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada, and several Members of Parliament in the 1990s.
“We’re pleased to honor Jeff with this year’s International and Research and Global Exchange Award,” NAHRO Interim CEO Mike Gerber said. “His commitment to international partnerships and knowledge exchange has greatly enriched NAHRO and its members.”
Jeff holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History and a Master of Arts in science politique canadienne from the University of Ottawa. He currently sits on the Board of Directors of a Way Home Canada, the Community Housing Transformation Centre, and Chairs the organization of the Ottawa Pride Run. He previously served on the Board of Directors of Bruce House, Operation Come Home, President of the Board of Directors of the Centretown Community Health Centre and was previously a candidate for Ottawa City Council.
About the International Research and Global Exchange Award
The award was established in 1983 to acknowledges a person who has made contributions to the international community. It was originally named after John D. Lange, Executive Director of NAHRO from 1951 to 1970, who actively participated throughout his professional career in international exchange and, in his retirement, carried out executive service assignments in Argentina, Indonesia, and the Philippines. This award is provided to a professional who embodies the excellence of Mr. Lange’s contributions.
